Mathematical tools for predictability
A meritokrácia nem csak arról szól, hogy meghatározzuk az egyének vagy csoportok érdemeit és eszerint jutalmazzuk, hanem egy kiválasztási folyamat is, mely azt hivatott megalapozni, hogy a különböző feladatokat a jövőben az arra legalkalmasabbak végezzék el. Ilyen formán a meritokrácia az emberi viselkedés és teljesítmény jóslásáról szól, ezáltal sokkal általánosabb kérdés egy jutalmazási, illetve újraelosztási problémánál.
Meritocracy is not only about determining the merits of individuals or groups and rewarding them accordingly, but also a selection process to ensure that the most suitable people are the ones who will perform the tasks in the future. In this form, meritocracy is about predicting human behaviour and performance, and is thus a much more general issue than a problem of reward or redistribution.
